The History
While technically founded in 2025, the brainchild that is Aephris Media has been a concept in the mind of its founders for far longer.
When they met in 2007, founders Jenna and Josh had no idea the chaos their minds could ignite. Both were creative types, and the spark was instantaneous. They both discovered a love for building and crafting, drawing and painting, but writing was low on the list at the time. Jenna was a mildly popular fan fiction author, and Josh wrote songs and poetry, but when their free time was strained, the writing slowed to a halt.
It didn’t become front-and-center until 2020, when COVID stuck and layoffs began everywhere.
The Devil’s Delight started off as one of many ghostwriting projects they’d taken up to make money. While the client praised the work, it was “too much story, not enough smut” for their reader base.
Josh and Jenna, however, had put too much of themselves into the story to let it go. Teaming up with a friend and fellow author Lainie, who was already well-established in the business, they bought the rights back and published it together. And thus began their writing journey.
The Vision
But let’s ask the real questions here: what exactly is an aephris? Well, it’s made up!
An aephris is the creature in the logo, a dragon-like fantasy creature that inhabits one of the many worlds we’ve been building. It represents our hunger for knowledge and adventure, whether on the page or in the real world.
When we set out to make Aephris Media a real entity, we had big dreams, and still do. We went the self-publishing route because it was the quickest route to getting our books in readers’ hands, but joining the numerous groups dedicated to the business, we realized just how complicated traditional publishers made things.
Our aim is to become a publisher that can make the whole process more accessible to those who find it overly complicated or just don’t have time to figure it out. As we grow, add a whole team of editors, cover designers, and even a marketing team. When we begin accepting manuscripts for publishing, people will see the hard work and dedication we’ve put into making your dream and ours into a reality.

Jenna – Author
Author, painter, trouble maker! When I can get my brain to cooperate, I love creating things, whether it’s physical or digital. On days my brain works against me, I can be found inside a video game, anime, or a good book collecting inspiration!

Josh – Outliner
My main focus is character- and world-building and plotting outlines, but I try my hand at writing occasionally. When I’m not working, I’m watching anime, reading manga or novels, or building something with my hands.

Kaybri – Intern
I’m a digital media intern for Aephris Media. I work on website design and am building my knowledge base to help in other areas. My next goal is learning marketing and social media management. Outside of that, I haunt Discord and Tumblr or work on art when the mood strikes.
